The Barbies invaded Chicago this past Saturday, November 9th at Block 37!!! This highly anticipated event was a must see for all you Barbie lovers! Amie Hana and Vincent Tan made the perfect hosts!! Guests were treated to a room full of delectable desserts, wine, and signature Barbie cocktails! Every inch of the room was filled with real life Ken and Barbies!!! Runway manager Benjamin Gottrell and Stylist Damion Garrett set the runway on fire with models dressed to perfection with designs by Mark Roscoe, Eileen Fisher, Borris J. Powell and shoes by Style up Girl. One crowd favorite was the Chocolate dress created by Mark Roscoe and Chef Omar Martines, which was worn by Chicago Luvabull Shannon Lersh. This dress was definitely jaw dropping!!! I personally saw it back stage and was in utter amazement!! My highlight of the night would have to be meeting designer Borris Powell!! Not only is his designs simply stunning he is one of the most humble men I've ever met! Mr. Powell helped us back stage and ensured that my hair and makeup team along with all the models were okay!! I honestly thought he was the backstage manager until I saw him walk on stage!! I just couldn't believe he was THE BORRIS POWELL that I had heard so much about. The Barbie invasion ended with an energized performance by De'Borah Music Trappa and Jovie Calma! Those ladies know how to entertain a crowd for sure! Huge round of applause to the Queen of PR Margaret J O' Conner for another outstanding event!
Last but definitely not least I must give credit to the hands behind the Barbz look on the runway and showcase!!
